What is the R score of safety flooring? What is a good score?
To find out the slip resistance of safety flooring, the ramp test is carried out. As the test continues and the operator begins to slip, the angle of the treadmill (Pendulum Test Value (PTV)) is recorded and used alongside the R value, which runs from R9 to R13.
For this reason, while the R score is important, you should also look out for an angle range for a fully informed score.
